FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27TH

Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch in Little Tokyo

Since the 1940s, Tanaka Farms has been growing seasonal produce in Irvine, CA. Pick a freshly harvested, locally grown pumpkin from Tanaka Farms in Downtown LA! Proceeds from pumpkin purchases will benefit Kizuna, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization educating, empowering and engaging a future generation of Japanese Americans.

2:00 – 8:30 PM at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) Plaza.

FREE admission, pumpkin prices vary.

 

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28TH

Skid Row-Kyo Halloween Party & Ondo

Join local community organization, Skid Row-Kyo for their annual Halloween Party & Ondo that includes family fun, trick or treating, costume parades, food and traditional Japanese festival folk dancing!

12:00 – 4:00 PM at Centenary United Methodist Church.

FREE admission.

“Thrill the World” Flash Mob

Thrill The World is friends, families and other local residents who each year join together with thousands of people around the globe to celebrate Michael Jackson’s talent by dancing simultaneously to “Thriller”! Interested? Arrive at 1:30 PM to sign up and rehearse for the big show!

Showtime: 3:00 PM on Azusa Street.

FREE admission.

 

Haunted Little Tokyo Block Party

Dress your best on October 28th for a giant Halloween celebration on 2nd Street, with live entertainment, bar crawls, food trucks, craft booths, costume contests and more frightful festivities into the night.

5:00 PM – midnight on 2nd St, between San Pedro St & Central Ave.

Haunted Little Tokyo Guided Walking Tour

Join the Little Tokyo Historical Society (LTHS) on a journey through Little Tokyo’s haunted past with a special guided walking tour of historical buildings, ghostly tales and paranormal experiences in this over 100-year-old historic and cultural neighborhood. All proceeds support the preservation of Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, and include LTHS’ 2018 commemorative “incrEDIBLE Little Tokyo” food calendar FREE!

5:00 – 6:00 PM; meet in front of the Go For Broke National Education Center, 355 E 1st St.

$15 donation per person, pre-registration required. Limited to 20 participants.

 

Family Movie Screening of My Neighbor Totoro

Go Little Tokyo for a family-friendly screening of a fantasy anime favorite, Studio Ghibli’s, My Neighbor Totoro! Bring your own seating and blankets for a fun adventure with Satsuke & Mei, as they explore their new home and neighborhood and meet the cuddly, playful creature known as Totoro. Presented by Go Little Tokyo & Anime For Humanity!

6:00 – 7:30 PM at Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) Plaza.

FREE admission, $5 donation suggested.

 

Movie Screening of Ju-On

The horror film series culminates with a screening of the 2002 Japanese supernatural horror film, Ju-OnBring your own seating and blankets, grab a bite from a food truck and sip on some beer and wine.

Doors open at 8:00 PM, movie starts at 9:00 PM at Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) Plaza.

FREE admission, $5 donation suggested.

Doors open at 7:00 PM, movie starts at 8:00 PM at East West Players, 120 Judge John Aiso St.
